Tenecia is an experienced human resources professional with an extensive background in labor relations and HR compliance.  As of January 2019, Tenecia was promoted to Director of Employee & Labor Relations at the University of Pittsburgh. Under this new role, she assists employees and managers with performance concerns and other workplace matters, provides guidance on University personnel policies and procedures, and administers the provisions of various collective bargaining agreements.
 
Prior to working at Pitt, Tenecia worked in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area in human resources roles for Prince George’s Community College, and Marriott International. She also worked as an Attorney with the U.S. Federal Labor Relations Authority.

Hailing from the great State of Maryland, Tenecia is a graduate of THE Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She received her Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law. Tenecia holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, and will complete her Masters in Human Resources and Labor Relations from Michigan State University in 2019.
Tenecia is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, Vice President of Programming and Professional Development for the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources –Pittsburgh Chapter, and volunteer with Big Brother’s Big Sisters.
