ANCHOR INDUSTRIAL PROMOTES AL VARGA TO DIRECTOR OF CONSTRUCTION

Anchor Industrial, an Industrial Trades Company, promoted Al Varga to the Director of Construction.  Anchor Industrial has two core business units: regionally based maintenance and shutdown millwright crews, and a team of nationally deployable industrial construction tradesmen.  Mr. Varga’s position is responsible for the latter leading projects ranging from greenfield capital expansion projects to major structural-mechanical repair of plants, mills, and mines.

In 2014, Al Varga joined the Junction Industries family of companies as a senior project manager of Anchor Industrial’s design-build sister company, Trident Structures. Based in the company’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania offices, Mr. Varga’s projects are consistently on time and within budget giving him a reputation of a highly experienced construction manager that made him the clear choice when filling this role.

“We are very pleased to promote Al.  His vast experience has been evident over the past five years leading several large-scale projects for our companies. With our backlog of projects, we needed someone proven; and we know he can easily step-in and excel in leading this group.  As a bonus, as we continue to plan the professional development of all of our people, we’re extremely excited to see his educating and mentoring our next generation of job-site superintendents and project managers.  Quite simply, he’s been around, and in this business, there are no substitutes for experience,” shared John Rogers, Vice President of Anchor Industrial.

He started his career as a mining engineer in 1975, and over the next 40 years, rose to be a leader among engineering project managers in the industry. Mr. Varga’s holistic understanding of industrial project management includes, but is not limited to, design drawing management and developing equipment specifications through construction management and finally as the manager directly responsible for commissioning. Mr. Varga attended the University of Dayton where he earned his Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering, and he is a current member of both the American Institute of Steel Technologies (AIST) and the Eastern States Blast Furnace and Coke oven Association.
