James P. Cullen

James P. Cullen joined Hardin Thompson, PC in May of 2021.  Since joining Hardin Thompson, his practice has mainly focused on insurance defense cases involving premises liability, auto accidents, and negligence actions.  Prior to joining Hardin Thompson, Mr. Cullen practiced at a Pittsburgh area insurance defense firm representing clients in toxic tort cases.  

Mr. Cullen graduated summa cum laude in 2018 from Capital University Law School, in Columbus, Ohio, where he earned his Juris Doctorate degree.  Prior to earning his law degree, Mr. Cullen graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2015, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

While at Capital University Law School, James served as a Staff Member and then as an Associate Board Member of Capital University’s Law Review.  Mr. Cullen received the Dean’s List reward for every semester he attended Capital University Law School as well as CALI Awards for Excellence in Civil Procedure, Legal Research and Writing, Business Associations, and Evidence courses.

Mr. Cullen also interned at the Pennsylvania Superior Court for the Honorable Mary Jane Bowes in 2017, where he assisted in researching and drafting memorandum opinions.  In 2018 he interned at the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, where he worked directly with Assistant District Attorneys preparing for trial.

Mr. Cullen is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Mr. Cullen is also a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association.
