Taryn Malavite is the Senior Manager of IT Business Solutions for Duquesne Light Company.  As an honest, open and strong leader, Taryn excels at building high-performing teams.  She has experience managing all levels of individuals, including bargaining unit (IBEW) represented IT employees, interns, entry, mid and high-level professionals, contractors, high performers, poor performers and everything in between.  She began her career as a software engineer with a passion for web development but has spent her time in numerous areas of IT.  She has established teams for a Microsoft Center of Excellence, a Corporate Solutions group focused on low-code solutions, a Business & Process Analysis team, and a Business Relationship practice.  She also is the co-chair of the DLC Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council and is a member of the DLC Charitable Giving Committee.   When she’s not spending her free time with her two children, she is managing the website for a local Chiropractor.  As the designer, developer and administrator of De Novo Pittsburgh Chiropractic & Health, she oversees all aspects of the company’s website.  Additionally, she sits on the board of the Pittsburgh chapter of getWITit, co-managing the Technology committee.
